Well, Saturday night was cruise night in Orange, VA. Every third Saturday in the warm months, the Burger King in Orange is a pretty nice place to be. Mudbone, Jr. and I had planned to take our cars, but after an afternoon of post-hole digging at church, he and a friend decided to take a cooler down to the river instead. I was bummed, but I can't say I blamed him. It was a hot day. My daughter said she wanted to go with me to the car show, so I checked in with Mrs. Mudbone to see if she wanted...

The Mudbones are on vacation. Yes the entire gang has headed south to North Carolina’s Crystal Coast (my 8-year-old wants to know why it’s called “North” when we go south to get there). This will explain the sudden flurry of blog entries.
A couple of days before we left, Mrs. Mudbone asked me “Are you two planning on taking the Camaro to the beach?” I told her that it had been discussed
She uttered a complaint about having to drive her ‘Burb all the way with the rest of the...

Mudbone, Jr. offered up a good suggestion a few weeks ago, while we where sitting around in the garage. He said, “Dad, we need to name our cars something cool.” I think that’s a great idea. He told me about a guy with two hot rods – one black and one red. The guy named them Veronica and Archie, which sounds totally cool to me.
I have owned three metallic green vehicles in my life. The first was a 1979 GMC 4x4 pickup, that I got new back when I was farming. I kept that truck...

Well, last blog, I said I might be taking a road trip, and I was serious. I’d been scouring Craigslist for months, looking for an unmolested LT1 Camaro that could be a driver car. The 30th is fun, but having a nearly perfect car that has some rarity has its drawbacks – you hesitate to drive it. We finally found a candidate about 60 miles away, in Winchester. It is a ’95 Z28 M6 in Polo Green (yes, with T-Tops!). It is a one-owner car in very good shape with about 80K on the odometer. Lynn and...

Well, I had the best intentions to keep uo with this blog this summer, but life has gotten in the way. I'll promise to try to do better. (Notice, I said try!)
Last Weekend, Mudbone, Jr. and I went to Carlisle and had a great time. He drove most of the way up and all the way home. About halfway home, he remarked "This car is SOOO fun to drive." He really wants a 4th-gen of his own, now. (We'll see.)
We both were amazed at the number of 5th-gens at Carlisle....
